eVidyaloka is a not-for-profit organization that focuses on transforming the educational landscape of rural India. They create digital classrooms for children in remote villages, with the support of local communities and Volunteer Teachers from across the globe. The standardized lesson plans and teaching aids help the children from government schools receive quality education for a promising & rewarding future.
The vision of eVidyaloka is ‘to create a Knowledgeable & Empowered rural India through quality education.’ Its aim is to educate – anywhere, anytime.
There is a huge shortage of teachers in remote and rural villages in India. eVidyaloka wanted to create a single platform that could connect teachers and students across the country by leveraging technology.
The NGO was looking for a partner who can help it in bringing together volunteerism and technology together.
eVidyaloka selected Openway for this as they have the necessary technological expertise and experience to develop a scalable application that can support multiple users and features.
The Openway team developed a mobile platform for multiple personas like students, parents, partner organizations, and volunteers. The existing web app was also revamped into a highly scalable, secured, and low-maintenance platform.
The platform has various features, such as self-learning-enabled system training, class scheduling, and access to learning assets such as on-demand videos and textbooks. The app also helped in demand forecasting to more accurately match students’ needs and teachers’ availability.
Openway also ensured a frictionless onboarding process and registration for volunteers, teachers, students, and schools.
